Style, Profile

Something I learnt today: How to use my digital camera (I can only hope it's sunk in...)
Something that made me laugh today: Sitting around with Suze, Sean and JB after lunch.

Family (One side at least) christmas lunch thing today. Oh joy. I always hate these things. I'm sitting there with people I like, but somehow in a group I don't feel comfortable with all of them. There are things you'll say to your sister and boyfriend that you just aren't comfortable saying infront of your grandparents. So your grandparents and mother dominate the conversation and I have absolutely nothing relevant to contribute (God bless the "kiddy table"). So yeah, was glad when that was over.

It's been hard saying good bye to people. I'm only gone for four and a half weeks, but it's the longest I've ever been away from home, and I realistically can contact them, but only intermittently and I won't even be able to know when this will occur in advance. I'm scared that I'm going to piss everybody off because I won't call them as much as they want to hear from me (that realistically is impossible for some). It's like when Den went to Canadia. He was too busy to miss his girlfriend.

So yeah. Emotional weekend. Had "heated discussions" with JB. Dunno if you'd call them fights. I'm a little upset and a little heartbroken but there ain't anything to be done to make me feel better. Poo. But at work this morning (discussions were last night) I was very sad and Nai asked me what was wrong. It got summarised in a sentence to her. Later she sees me at my register and tells me to smile. 20-30 minutes later she just walks past my register and hands me a strawberry freddo frog. I was a bit confused. Turn it over, it's got a security seal on it (meaning she's bought it for me) and she tells me to cheer up, smiles and walks off. Sweet girl.

Uptown Girl

Something I learnt today: The kodak webpage isn't exactly secure
Something that made me laugh today: mmm. I dunno. Spent the whole day alone. Not always all that funny...

Well. I ain't so good at keeping this thing. I suck. Well and truly. I'd say that I'll start trying harder but I'm just about to piss off to Costa Rica, so I don't imagine I will be working too hard on this just yet. Shame.

I can't install Kazaa, but I can't cancel the installation. OMG. What a stupid computer I've got.

I went shopping today (again) to by junk for the trip. I felt kinda silly walking around in the Christmas rush buying all this stuff (shoes, clothes, traveller's cheques, sunscreen) for myself. I also bought myself a little phrasebook which hopefully will come in handy.

I'm supposed to be going out tonight to celebrate the birth of Shirley. I can't be bothered. (No offence Shirlz...) It'll either take me two cars or a train and two trams to get there. And I want to sleep in my own bed. I like my bed. And I've got to go to violent hitting things with sticks class tomorrow. Yay. But that means I've gotta leave the house at 11.

I have to do things. I don't know what. I've lost my important to-do list. I've got the one I scrawled out last night on the back of an envelope. I've done half of it almost, which I think is kinda cool. But there's another list and therefore important things that I am forgetting. Shame.

Last night we had a BBQ at Anna's and I had to say good bye to Brett. He's likely to be flying off to America (never to return) while I'm overseas. This makes me a very sad girl. It hasn't quite sunk in yet.

i'm starting to get a severe driver's tan...
