Something I learnt today: what my exam timetable looks like
Something that made me laugh today: Mark's choice of greeting
Well, I certainly had an interesting weekend. Friday night brought Linda's 21st birthday party, friends and family gathered to eat, drink and freeze to death in her back yard. After all the effort we went to with her birthday present the damn thing still wasn't ready (sorry).
So we drank, and danced and we made fun of everyone's favourite Biochemist in front of one of his PhD students (here's hoping he doesn't mention us).
So, I spend the night wandering around, drinking, breaking glasses and being stared at by Aidan. I think, realistically, the less said about Aidan the better. I now kinda wish he had eaten some of the walnut-ridden chocolate cake.
So the day started with me sneaking out of bed to make toast and start cleaning Linda's backyard. I watched a little Simpsons and then drove home.
As I turn into my street I notice a great deal of cars parked in it and wonder what on earth is going on. I get closer to my house and remember that the guy across the road is auctioning his house that day at 12:30. It'[s about quarter to one. Whoops. The auctioneer is pointing at someone outside my neighbour's house. The entire crowd stares at me. The guy standing in my driveway moves out of my way (but strangely enough, doesn't move out of my driveway) in order to let me in. Whoops. Then I grab my pillow and sleeping bag and enter the house. No one asked, but I'm sure they realised what I'd been up to. Whoops.
Saturday was a normal day until after work. I drive out to the Mentone RSL and sit down at the Cooper Family table. We're playing in a trivia match to raise funds for Sean's hockey team. I'll admit my contribution was minimal, and no one at the table hesitated to point it out. But there were a few questions that I managed to answer, leading me to believe that it was worth my being there.
The Coops team won a prize for getting the most answers right in the quote round. Hooray. A box of chocolates for us all to share and use to bribe the judges with. We also won the grand prize, the Bright Sparks Award for 2005. By all of two points I think. Each of us wound up walking out of the RSL with a bottle of red wine in one hand (it's quite beyond me what I'll do with that) and a spark plug screwed into a plank of wood. How quaint.

It doesn't sound like you had a very good time this weekend, what with Aidan the starer and the Coopers who made fun of your performance.
Nah...I had a good weekend. The Coopers always make fun of me, and I of them. It's just one of those weird bonding things...
